Creating a content supply chain that will stand the test of time.

Digital channels are seeing a huge surge of content, as the need to create personalized digital experiences is growing every day. There are more channels, markets, and formats to deliver content than ever before — and a greater need for seamless digital experiences.

Every company has processes to create and activate content, but many are inefficient and incomplete. The good news is that these processes can be managed with clear roles and responsibilities, complete strategies, and integrated AI, technology, and data.

Adobe introduces Spectrum 2, the design system that reimagines the user experience for Adobe applications

If you’ve used more than one Adobe tool over the years, you’ve probably noticed similarities: application layout, icon design, and color palettes, to name a few. These are all components of our design system, Spectrum , first introduced over ten years ago. That system is what makes all Adobe experiences “feel like Adobe.”

Today we’re introducing Spectrum 2, the most significant update to our design system to date. Adobe’s audience is growing, with generative AI through Adobe Firefly expanding our reach to new users. At the same time, Adobe continues to provide professionals with the tools they need for creative work, marketing, and more. Spectrum 2 aims to make Adobe tools even more intuitive, inclusive, and easy to use across all platforms, while supporting our mission to enable creativity for everyone.

Here’s why we’re updating our design system now and what you can expect when it rolls out across all Adobe experiences in 2024, with a sneak peek at the end of this article.

Reimagining our video and audio tools with Adobe Firefly

At this week’s NAB conference, we announced new innovations like text-based editing and automatic tone mapping in Adobe Premiere Pro , and celebrated 30 years of Adobe After Effects . We also extended Frame.io to support photo and PDF review, giving decentralized marketing teams a unified, intuitive cloud hub to collaborate on files.
For more than three decades, Adobe’s family of video and audio applications have been the tools of choice for the world’s most talented creative professionals. This year alone, our applications have helped bring 10 Oscar-nominated films to life, including the Best Picture and Best Editing winner, “Everything at Once, Everywhere.” Additionally, the creators of Adobe Substance 3D Designer won a Scientific Technical Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences® (Adobe’s third Oscar), and nearly two-thirds of the films screening at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival were edited in Premiere Pro.
For over 10 years, Adobe has provided hundreds of AI-powered features through Adobe Sensei , Adobe’s AI and machine learning framework. Features like Auto-Framing and Remix in Premiere Pro and Content-Aware Fill for video in After Effects are already helping video and audio professionals around the world create amazing content, faster.

We’re entering a new era where generative AI will enable a natural conversation between creator and computer, where writing your own words and simple gestures will combine with the best of professional creative app workflows to enable new creative expression.

YouTube Shorts deep dive: A conversation with product lead

In a recent video released by Creator Insider, YouTube Shorts Product Lead Todd Sherman sits down with successful Shorts creator Jenny Hoyos to discuss the nuances of creating engaging short-form content.

The Hook is Everything
Jenny emphasizes the critical importance of hooking viewers within the first second of a Short, using a three-step formula of shock, intrigue, and satisfy. This aligns with the fast-paced nature of Shorts consumption, where viewers quickly swipe through videos in the feed.
Thumbnails: Less Important for Discovery, More for Branding
An interesting point of discussion was the role of thumbnails for Shorts. Both Jenny and Todd agree that thumbnails are less crucial for attracting viewers in the Shorts feed compared to long-form videos. However, they acknowledge the value of custom thumbnails for maintaining a professional channel aesthetic and appealing to brands.

Your guide to 2025 graphic trends by Freepik

In 2025, design feels like it’s having a moment. You know, the kind of moment where everything shifts, and suddenly, the way we create isn’t all aesthetics anymore—it’s connection. It’s about making you think and experience. The rules? Tossed out. The possibilities for the next trends? Endless.

The tools are evolving, too, and with them, the way we tell stories. Emotions, textures, ideas—they’re no longer just supporting characters. They’re the main event. It’s as if design has decided to step out of the background and demand our attention, whispering, “This is what the future looks like.” And honestly, we’re here for it.

So, what does all this mean for 2025? It means the way we create, see, and feel design is shifting, and it’s bringing some big energy. Six graphic trends are already paving the way, each one bringing something fresh to the table. Let’s explore them!

7 style trends to watch in 2025 – Freepik’s take

So, another year of design madness wraps up. A year packed with jaw-dropping creations and tech doing its thing. And guess what? We’re already gearing up for the next one. AI has been flexing hard—new tools, smarter workflows, and ideas that seemed impossible a year ago suddenly feel like child’s play. But no matter how much the tech levels up; the soul of creation stays untouched. It’s still about you and the message you want to throw out into the world.

And now, we’re all asking the same question: What’s next? Design is always a little unpredictable—part science, part gut feeling—but one thing’s for sure, new trends are bubbling up, ready to flip the script. Here are some trends you need to keep an eye on.

Pop Surrealism
Vivid, bold, and unapologetically out there—pop surrealism is the 2025 trend that grabs reality, shakes it up, and dips it into a technicolor fantasy. It blends the everyday with the fantastical, creating visuals that make you stop, stare, and question if you’re still awake.

Case in point: architecture and interior design. Picture spaces that look like they belong in an alternate dimension; rounded shapes, intense palettes, and textures that scream future. Try making this style your own with our AI Image Generator.

Envato Joins the Digital Media Licensing Association

Envato has joined the Digital Media Licensing Association (DMLA) to continue working towards creating a fair and transparent ecosystem that benefits the creative community.

This announcement comes just after Envato announced its partnership with BRIA AI to help develop and launch one of the first licensed visual Generative AI foundation models for commercial use that facilitates compensation for creators whose work contributes to training the model.

The DMLA is a non-profit trade association who have been around for over 70 years. The DMLA was established in 1951 by a group of New York stock photo agencies concerned about protecting their original transparencies.

While the media landscape has changed significantly during the DMLA’s life, its core mission has remained: to protect the rights of creators and their representatives in the media licensing community.

The DMLA achieves this by using its legal committee to lobby on behalf of the industry for strong intellectual property (IP) and copyright legislation. It also serves as a platform for industry leaders to connect and collaborate on issues facing the community.

As a member of the DMLA, Envato will collaborate with other DMLA members to address industry challenges, establish best practices, and develop standards for both licensors and licensees. Envato’s involvement in the association will help shape a fair and transparent framework that benefits content contributors, customer creatives, and the industry as a whole.

“As a global scaling business, one thing that will never change is our unwavering support of our creative community, and we’re looking forward to collaborating with members of the DMLA as we lead the evolution of creativity in our industry,” says Envato Chief Strategy Officer, Alyssa Buchardt.

By joining the DMLA, Envato aims to reinforce its dedication to doing the right thing by the contributor community while empowering customers to thrive – providing them with the content they need to succeed in their creative endeavors.
